YOUR JOURNEY

Step 1

CHECK AVAILABILITY FOR YOUR WEDDING DATE

Once you have confirmed your date and venue, reach out by completing the online enquiry form. Share as much detail as possible, including planned guest numbers, venue, and cake style. You can also upload a ‘cake inspiration’ picture—this will give me a better idea of the cake style you have in mind.

Step 2

CONFIRM YOUR BOOKING

We will then discuss tones, textures, your venue, your floral choices, and, of course, wedding cake flavours. When combined, these elements make your dream wedding. If you would like to proceed and secure your date, you can do so with a 50% booking fee. Upon receipt of this deposit payment, I will issue your Wedding Cake Welcome Packet which includes your Order Form, Flavour Menu, T&Cs, AND your personalised Mood Board! This is my way of making sure we’re on the same page from the start - so don’t hold back on the inso! Think venue, colours, florals, vibe… the more detail the better!

Step 3

WEDDING CAKE TASTING

Now it’s time for the enjoyable bit, trying some cake!

Undoubtedly a key moment in your wedding planning, and a truly unforgettable part of your wedding cake journey. Lulu’s Primrose Bakery provides a postal cake sampling service available to order from the READY TO ORDER page. Each box contains five flavours of your choice selected from the menu and delivered directly to your door for you to try in the comfort of your own home… best accompanied by a bottle of sparkling wine or a freshly brewed pot of tea, depending on what you enjoy most!

Step 4

FINAL DETAILS OF YOUR WEDDING CAKE

Approximately four weeks prior to your wedding, I will reach out to finalise all the details with you, and this is when the final payment is also due. A week before your wedding, I will coordinate with your venue and other suppliers, such as your florist, for any cake flowers to ensure delivery and set-up of your cake. Additionally, I will be preparing to start on your cake and may have already created any sugar flowers or design elements to embellish it.

With the date approaching quickly, we aim to complete all administrative tasks and processes around this time, allowing you to enjoy the countdown to your special day.

Step 5

ON YOUR WEDDING DAY

I provide a full delivery and set-up service at your venue. I will liaise directly with your Wedding Coordinator at the venue to arrange this. I will set up your finished cake and provide any extra styling to the cake table as agreed with you. Wedding cakes are surprisingly heavy, so we typically transport each tier in individual boxes, allowing sufficient time to stack and assemble them on-site. Once I am satisfied with the setup, I will take some final photos and meet with your venue coordinator or caterers to discuss flavours, and the cake-cutting process.

At this point, you have nothing to worry about except relaxing, enjoying your day, admiring your cake design that has come to life, and, most importantly, tasting a large slice of your delicious wedding cake!

FAQs

I would like to have fresh flowers on my cake, how do I arrange this?

Fresh flowers are a beautiful way to style your wedding cake, and I’m delighted to let you know that I now provide and arrange all cake flowers myself. This means you don’t need to coordinate with your florist—I’ll source seasonal blooms that are food-safe, long-lasting, and in keeping with your chosen colour palette and overall wedding style. On the day, I will personally arrange the flowers onto your cake to ensure everything looks elegant, fresh, and picture-perfect.

Do you deliver your cakes to the venue?

Yes, all of my wedding cakes are delivered and set up personally at your venue on the morning of your wedding. This ensures your cake arrives safely and is beautifully presented, with every detail styled to perfection before your guests arrive.

How far in advance shall I book?

I recommend securing your wedding cake 6–9 months in advance, as my diary fills up quickly, particularly during peak wedding season. Booking early ensures your date is reserved and allows plenty of time to design and perfect your bespoke cake.

Do you style the cake display?

Yes, I offer full cake table styling, ensuring your wedding cake is presented beautifully and in harmony with your overall décor. From elegant arrangements to finishing touches, every detail is curated to create a stunning visual impact for your special day.

Do you do Dessert Tables?

Yes, I do! A dessert table is a wonderful way to complement your wedding cake and treat your guests to a beautiful variety of sweet delights. You can explore the different options I offer on my dedicated Dessert Tables page, where you’ll find inspiration and full details.

Do you cater for small elopement weddings?

Yes, absolutely. I adore creating cakes for intimate celebrations and offer beautifully designed elopement packages tailored especially for smaller weddings. These include elegant cake options that are perfectly portioned, while still feeling every bit as special and luxurious as a larger wedding cake. You can find out more about my elopement packages here

How much do your cakes cost?

Prices quoted include fresh flowers and delivery to local venues. Each of my cakes is designed and created bespoke, so I don’t offer a fixed price list. However, to give you an idea:

  • A two-tier semi-naked cake to serve around 30 guests begins at £295.

  • A two-tier ganache buttercream cake to serve around 30 guests begins at £420

  • Fondant wedding cakes are individually priced on consultation

  • Wedding favours, mini cakes, brownies and cheesecakes are also available on request

As every design is unique, final pricing will depend on your chosen size, style, and level of detail.

What kind of ingredients do you use?

My philosophy has always been flavour first. Every cake is crafted using only the finest ingredients: rich, creamy butter, Belgian couverture chocolate, smooth Swiss fondant, and pure, fragrant vanilla. By sourcing high-quality ingredients, I ensure that your cake tastes every bit as exquisite as it looks.

Do you cater for special dietary requirements?

I’m not able to offer dairy-free, nut-free or gluten-free cakes, as I work from a domestic kitchen where these allergens are present. For this reason, I cannot guarantee that any of my cakes are free from traces of allergens.

Do you offer cake tastings?

Yes, I do. I offer flavour boxes that can be purchased online here, allowing you to sample a selection of my most popular cakes in the comfort of your own home. Alongside this, I provide consultations either in person or online, where we can discuss your ideas, design preferences and flavours in detail.

How do I secure my booking?

To secure your wedding cake, a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. Once your deposit is received, your date is officially reserved and we can begin designing your bespoke cake. The remaining balance is due closer to your wedding day.
