FLAVOUR FIRST

Using only the finest ingredients, Lulu is passionate about creating distinctive and delicious flavour combinations. All of the cakes at Lulu’s Primrose Bakery are freshly made to order using real butter, Devon-based, Little Pod Real Vanilla and the finest couverture Belgian chocolate. All conserves are either handmade by Lulu or locally sourced.

All cakes contain three perfectly even layers of sponge with two generous layers of filling, so they look exquisite when cut. Each tier is at least 5 - 6 inches deep. Buttercream and Fondant-covered cakes are coated with an indulgent layer of white chocolate ganache to ensure a sharp, well-structured finish.

Lulu’s Primrose Bakery does not offer eggless, gluten-free, vegan or dairy-free cakes.

CLASSIC VANILLA

Vanilla Genoese sponge, layered with whipped vanilla buttercream and handmade strawberry conserve.

CHOCOLATE ESPRESSO

Decadent, rich chocolate mud cake layered with smooth and creamy espresso infused buttercream - the perfect pairing for coffee lovers!

TOFFEE & SALTED CARAMEL

Butterscotch toffee sponge layered with a blanket of thick salted caramel sauce and smooth salted caramel buttercream.

DARK CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE

Decadent, rich chocolate mud cake layered with a smooth and silky dark chocolate truffle buttercream.

PASSION FRUIT & BLUEBERRY

Vanilla Genoese sponge, layered with handmade blueberry conserve and whipped passionfruit buttercream.

WHITE CHOCOLATE & RASPBERRY

Vanilla Genoese sponge, layered with Belgium white chocolate buttercream and handmade raspberry conserve..

LEMON & ELDERFLOWER

A light lemon-infused sponge, layered with Waterhouse Fayre Zesty Lemon Curd and delicately floral elderflower buttercream.

RASPBERRY & ROSE

Vanilla Genoese sponge, layered with rosewater buttercream and handmade raspberry conserve..

CARROT CAKE & CREAM CHEESE

A warming carrot cake infused with cinnamon, raisins and walnuts, layered with whipped cream cheese frosting.

CARROT CAKE & ORANGE BLOSSOM

A warming carrot cake infused with cinnamon, raisins and walnuts, layered with sweet, tangy orange blossom buttercream.

Portions

Wedding cakes are generally cut into two specific portion sizes. 'Wedding portions' are usually chosen by couples who are serving their cake in addition to a dessert. 'Dessert portions' are usually chosen by couples who wish to serve more generous portion as their dessert.

All of our buttercream cakes are finished with a layer of white chocolate ganache and in the case of fondant cakes, then covered in a fine layer of premium Swiss fondant.. This ensures multi-tiered cakes  are structurally sound, particularly in the warmer summer months, as well as providing a pristine blank canvass for decoration.
