An Autumn Wedding at Beaconside House: Selena & Keelan’s Stylish, Heartfelt Celebration
Selena and Keelan’s October wedding at Beaconside House brought together thoughtful design, soft autumn tones and heartfelt personal details. The gallery from their day showcases a celebration filled with warmth and intention - the perfect backdrop for their elegant, understated style. Before anything else, a heartfelt thank you to Elliot Glover Photography, who kindly shared this beautiful gallery with me. His images capture Selena and Keelan’s day with such warmth, atmosphere and sensitivity, it’s a privilege to showcase their cake within the story he’s documented.
A Setting Framed By Autumn Light
Selena and Keelan’s October wedding took place at Beaconside House, where the surrounding landscape and gentle autumn tones create an instantly atmospheric setting.
The outdoor ceremony space was dressed with abundant seasonal florals by Anna of Howie and The Flowers. Tones of apricot, rust, cream and greenery framed the couple as they walked back up the aisle together. The rolling countryside beyond adds a sense of openness and quiet romance.
Soft, Poetic Bridal Details
Selena’s bridal style is captured with a calm, timeless elegance. One of the standout details is her beautifully embroidered veil by Gabrielle Elizabeth Embroidery, adorned with botanical linework and the words “it must be love,” adding a personal, handmade touch to her look.
Her bouquet echoes the warm autumn palette: peaches, blush tones, subtle apricots and deeper russets, an effortless complement to her satin gown and the floral styling seen throughout the day, and a perfect reflection of modern wedding styling!
Thoughtful Styling & Elegant Reception Details
The reception décor blended considered design with relaxed warmth, a style increasingly sought after for modern countryside weddings. Notable details include:
Soft autumnal florals arranged in miniature bud vases
Dusky pink and peach tapered candles
Natural textures of wood, linen and subtle brass
Playful, modern stationery with handwritten touches
Together, these elements create a setting that feels intimate yet curated - a lovely backdrop for their celebration!
The Wedding Cake: A Textural, Autumn-Inspired Centrepiece
Designing Selena and Keelan’s luxury bespoke wedding cake was a joy! They chose a style that embraces natural texture and understated luxury: a three-tier semi-naked buttercream cake with torn edges, soft gold leaf detailing and clusters of seasonal florals. Fresh figs were added to bring depth and a distinctly autumnal feel, complementing the tones used throughout the day.
For flavours, they selected three beautiful combinations:
Carrot Cake - A softly spiced classic paired with smooth orange blossom buttercream.
Raspberry & Rose - A delicate floral profile balanced by bright, fruity sharpness.
Lemon & Elderflower - A zesty flavour paired with elegantly floral elderflower
The cake was photographed so gracefully against Beaconside’s stone and timber textures - a quiet, elegant focal point within the overall styling.
A Sweet Moment: Slices Ready to Be Shared
A rare snapshot of the cake portioned and ready for guests was beautifully captured, too! The contrasting layers of spiced carrot cake, raspberry and rose, and lemon and elderflower sitting neatly alongside one another, surrounded by scattered florals, reflect the couple’s wider aesthetic: refined, inviting and thoughtfully considered — just as a luxury wedding cake should feel.
Kind Words From the Couple
I am always incredibly grateful when couples take the time to share their experience after the wedding day. Selena very kindly sent this message following their celebration, and I am so pleased to share her words here:
Wow, what a decadent and beautiful cake Lulu created for my Husband and me on our wedding day! The design was superb. Intricate, meticulously thought out and crafted with such care. It was absolutely delish. A ‘hand on heart’ recommendation from us for any occasion cakes!
A Final Thought on a Beautifully Curated Celebration
Selena and Keelan’s wedding reveals itself as a day shaped by creativity, softness and meaningful detail. While my part in the celebration was focused on their custom wedding cake, it’s a pleasure to see how it sat within the wider design and atmosphere of their Beaconside House, Devon wedding.
