Wedding Fair at Salcombe Harbour Hotel | Designer Wedding Cakes in Devon & Cornwall
As a wedding cake designer based in Devon, I recently had the pleasure of attending a wedding fair at the beautiful Salcombe Harbour Hotel - one of the most sought-after coastal wedding venues in Devon. Set against Salcombe’s stunning waterfront, it felt like the perfect setting to meet couples planning their weddings across Devon, Cornwall and beyond, and to showcase a collection of my designer wedding cakes in a space that reflects exactly the kind of celebrations I love to be part of.
Showcasing Designer Wedding Cakes in Salcombe
For the fair, I created a selection of cakes designed to sit effortlessly within a modern wedding setting. From softly textured buttercream tiers to a more contemporary, elongated design finished with fresh florals and seasonal fruit, the display was curated to give couples a feel for different styles and how they can work within their day.
The styling was intentionally kept relaxed yet elevated - soft draping, delicate florals in blush and champagne tones, and a palette that allowed the cakes to stand out without overpowering the space. For me, it’s always about more than just the cake itself. It’s about how it fits into the wider wedding - how it looks in the room, how it complements the details, and how it becomes part of the overall atmosphere.
Meeting Couples Planning Weddings in Devon & Cornwall
One of the highlights of the day was meeting couples at different stages of planning their weddings in Devon and Cornwall. Some were just starting to gather ideas, while others had a clear vision already taking shape. These conversations are always my favourite part - getting a sense of each couple’s style, their venue, and what they want their day to feel like.
I also brought along a selection of cake samples, which were very well received. There’s something about tasting the cake that really brings everything together, and I had some genuinely lovely feedback on the flavours, which is always incredibly important to me, as flavour is just as much a priority as design.
Connecting with Salcombe Wedding Suppliers
It was also a pleasure to connect with other Devon and Cornwall wedding suppliers throughout the day. Being surrounded by creatives who all care about the same thing - bringing a couple’s vision to life - always makes these events feel worthwhile.

Salcombe is such a special location for a wedding. Throughout the day, the views across the water and surrounding greenery were constantly drawing attention—adding a sense of calm and understated elegance to the space. The setting naturally lends itself to relaxed, stylish celebrations, and it was a real pleasure to spend time there.
